We invite you to the third tournament of the 30th season of the Debate League, which will take place on March 28–30, 2025, in Kroměříž! Debates There will be 5 rounds of debates: 2 on the official motion, 2 on a prepared motion related to developing countries, and 1 on an impromptu motion: Social movements without a prominent leader (e.g., Occupy Wall Street, #MeToo) are better than movements that have such a leader (e.g., M. L. King – Civil Rights Movement, Greta Thunberg – Fridays for Future). Assistance to developing countries should primarily be provided through trade support (e.g., reducing trade barriers or integrating local markets into the global economy) rather than direct aid (e.g., supply of goods, financial support, infrastructure projects). Organizational Information Schedule Friday 6:00 PM – Tournament opening 6:30 PM – First round (social movements) Saturday 9:00 AM – Announcement of the impromptu motion 10:00 AM – Second round (impromptu) 12:00 PM – Lunch 12:45 PM – Judges' café 1:50 PM – Group photo 2:00 PM – Third round (social movements) 4:00 PM – Fourth round (developing countries) 6:00 PM – Dinner 7:00 PM – Evening program / General Assembly Sunday 9:00 AM – Fifth round (developing countries) 11:15 AM – Tournament closing Venue The tournament will take place at the Archbishop’s Grammar School at Pilařova 3, Kroměříž. Participants will be accommodated in the local dormitory. Meals, including Saturday's lunch and dinner, will be provided in the school cafeteria. Is this your first debate event? Fees The tournament participation fee consists of two parts: 50 CZK – ADK membership fee (paid only once per academic year) 950 CZK – Debate League participant fee (includes registration, accommodation, and Saturday's lunch and dinner)* * Participants who do not require accommodation or meals can request a discount. Judges and teacher supervisors only need to pay the ADK membership fee. Please note that each club can have only one person in the role of a teacher supervisor. Registration Submit your registration by Friday, March 21, at 2:00 PM. After submitting your registration, the system will generate an invoice with payment details.
